What a Mug!

Well, Mr. Speaker (until recently) was processed in Harris County yesterday. One has to wonder why he is smiling, when almost every mugshot we have every seen of anyone is of someone who appears either smug, sad, angry, or really tired. This one is nothing like that. In fact he is well groomed, and even wearing his House of Representatives Security pin on his lapel.

Hardly the image that Democrats would have hoped for. It is hard to make him the Poster Boy of the "Bad Republican" when he looks so "normal."

I guess the attempted defrocking is going to be delayed.

I think you're exactly right. The guy looks delighted--like he was just elected. Or maybe Bush is going to nominate him when Miers goes down in flames....

THAT, by the way, is sort of the topic of the blog I told you about (voicemail). I know I said no blog aspirations. But it was the easiest way to "publish" some articles I've been tinkering with since the Roberts' nomination came down....

By the way, no one will ever beat Nick Nolte's notorious mug shot, though President Bush has a niece who comes awful-ly close.

heh, no, he is not. it just seems funny for a mugshot to look so cheerful. I guess he thinks the glass is at least 1/3 full...

He's been vilified by the dems, but he is outfoxing them so far. May his tribe increase. I am praying for him,
and if he is guilty, they need to find that out, too. He doesn't need to be hot, just smart. He is very smart. I
am in his corner unless he is PROVEN
guilty. I do not trust Ronnie Earle as far as he can be thrown, which couldn't be far enough!

my friend, Trey, interned in Delay's office a few years ago, and he said that he, too, supported Delay, but again if he is guilty, he is guilty. I don't know a lot about the man, other than he wields a LOT of power and influence which at some times appears to be a bit abusive. Were I a freshman congressman, I would hate to be in a position where I felt I had to vote differently- I'm sure the pressure to conform would be substantial, bordering on (or outright) manipulation. GReat as an ally, not good to have him as an enemy...

Sure, steal away. I guess I'd like the titles to be interesting--obviously the topic is entirely to dull. NO ONE seems to know or talk about any of this stuff. (And sadly, I learned none of it in law school.)

I concur. Not that we've ever met or anything, but I know what I wrote--and you'd have to be a nerd. But also a really good listener and tolerant and sort of patient and willing to give people a chance and doggone bully for you! That is one mighty pink website, by the way....

i don't know all there is to know about it, i admit, but a lot of the circumstances just smell really fishy
